Delores Elaine Murphy, 87, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at her home on December 30, 2024.
Private services will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, is assisting the family.
Delores was born January 12, 1937 in Decatur, the daughter of James W. and Gertrude (Morris) Burns. She married Lloyd Murphy, Sr. on November 14, 1974 in Clinton, IL. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2003. Delores owned two restaurants and managed three cafeterias in the Staley complex for 14 years. She managed the kitchen and bake shop at Swartz Restaurant for 8 years. Later, Delores owned and operated her own bakery and was affectionately known as the “Pie Lady”. This nickname was given to her by her beloved husband. Delores was a member of VFW Post #99 Ladies Auxiliary, former member of Moose Lodge 684 and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd Murphy, Sr; and 5 brothers.
