Delores Elaine “Dodie” Luker, 80, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mausoleum Park, Clinton, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to any of the following: Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois or Scovill Zoo. Dodie was born December 27, 1935, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Ira J. and Bertha “Betty” (Schimanski) Cox. She married Charles Clinton Luker on August 26, 1956. He preceded her in death in 1968. Dodie was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Macon County Home and Community Education (U of I Extension), and a proud member of The Red Hat Society. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, Lakeshore Connection, and the Convention Bureau. Dodie was an election judge and served on the board of directors at Cancer Care. Dodie had worked at Mueller Company in the personnel department, Revere Ware in Clinton, IL, and most recently, Prairie State Bank in Mt. Zion, IL. Dodie was well known for her fabulous 4th of July parties and her awesome deviled eggs. She was a friend to many and very much loved by her family and friends. Dodie loved sitting on her backyard swing enjoying the lake view. She also enjoyed plays, traveling, knitting, cooking, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her sons: Charles “Clint” (Kathy A.) Luker of Crossville, TN, Phillip (Debbie) Luker of Monterey, TN, and Steven Luker of Decatur, IL; brother Wayne (Shirley) Cox of Decatur, IL; sister: Carol (Edward) Buelow of Vicksburg, MS; grandchildren: Gregory (Laura) Luker, Nina (fiancé: Cole Jacobs) Luker, Mia Luker, all of TN, Jesse Brown, Jared Brown, Jacqueline Hora, Derek Luker, Jeremiah Kelch, Alexa Kelch, Sonja Luker, Savannah Luker; and 5 great-grandchildren. Dodie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Gregory Kent Luker (1965), and brothers: Donald and Dale Cox. "
