Della Jean Roberts, 91, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Monday, January 13, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Sunnyside Road Church of Christ, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Della was born November 28, 1933 in Coles County, IL, the daughter of Leverette and Velma (Fitzpatrick) Hardy. She married John Douglas Roberts on May 10, 1954 in Findlay. Della worked part-time for the Decatur Family YMCA for many years. She enjoyed gardening and then canning all the wonderful things she grew in her garden. Della was also a great baker. She later enjoyed doing water aerobics at the YMCA. Della was a longtime member of Sunnyside Road Church of Christ in Decatur.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, John; daughters: Debbie (Craig) Moore of Niantic and Sharon (Mike) Russell of Mascoutah; grandchildren: Trent (Angela) Moore of Monticello, Drew (Kristin) Moore of Bloomington, Emily (Jim) Beever of Mascoutah, Johathan (Brittany) Russell of Mascoutah and Jessica (Ryan) Busch of St. Libory; 8 great-grandchildren; and brother Dean (Jackie) Hardy of Shelbyville.
Della was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Norma Eversole and Shirley Berner.
