Born August 4, 1957 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of Dave and Lorene Bouman. Her passion for early childhood and special education led to her work at BabyTalk and STEPS. Deb’s heart for children and mothers was one of her greatest gifts, only surpassed by her love for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Dr. Stephen B. Widenhofer, and was a dedicated and loving mother to her three children, Brittany (Michael) Atwood of Monticello, IL, Dr. Marc Widenhofer of Nashville, TN, and Jacob (Emily) Widenhofer of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by her parents; grandchildren, William, Joshua, and Andrew Atwood; Stevie and Nora Widenhofer; sister Linda (Phil) Williford of Indianapolis, IN; brother Dan (Joyce) Bouman of Belmont, MI; brothers and sisters-in- law; nieces, nephews, and cousins. If you knew Deb, you loved her and were undoubtedly encouraged by her.
