Dean Harold Ortinau, 66, of Decatur, IL, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care in Sullivan, IL.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, and one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday. Graveside services and burial will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 11 at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL.Memorials may be made to Community Foundation of Macon County or Boys and Girls Club.Dean was born May 6, 1952 in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of Harold R. and Lois (Reich) Ortinau. Dean worked from 1984 till 2008 for The Grigoleit Company as Corporate Controller and Corporate Assistant Secretary and in 2008 joined Decatur Industrial Electric, retiring in 2011. He was a member of Decatur Early Bird Kiwanis Club, Past President of the Board of Directors of the Boys Club of Decatur, Past Board of Director of the United Way of Decatur, and Past Illinois High School Association Baseball and Basketball Official. Dean was a member of First United Methodist Church.He is survived by his daughter Nora Ortinau of Decatur, IL; sister Nancy (James) Sasaki of Crete, IL, two brothers Dr. David Ortinau of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Dennis (Jane) Ortinau of El Paso, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Don.
