David Milton Peer, 77, of Decatur, IL passed away at home at 10:25 A.M. on
August 14, 2024.
David was born on March 6, 1947 in Decatur, IL and was the son of Wavia Lucille Bower and Harold Eugene Peer. He married Karen B. Taylor on July 30, 1966 in Decatur, IL.
David was a proud member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Union 65. He was an avid birdwatcher and cared deeply for his grandchildren.
David is survived by his sister, Cheryl McMullen and husband Ed of Mesa, AZ; sons Dr. Brian D. Peer and wife Julie of Bettendorf, IA, and Michael L. Peer of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Anna, Kate, Danielle, Cameron, and Jackson; great-grandchildren Emma, Bobby, Moses, and Kate; sister- and brother-in-law Pam and Michael Buttz of Bethany, IL; and brother-in-law, Tim Roach of Niantic, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen, and his parents.
A Memorial Visitation will be at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL on Saturday August 24, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., with the Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. A Graveside Service will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, IL.
