David Mooney

Funeral mass will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 3-7 P.M. Wednesday, September 10, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL with military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the Warrensburg Fire Department. David was born April 8, 1945, the son of John and Francis Mooney and one of seven Mooney Brothers. He was a graduate of Warrensburg Latham High School. He married Patricia Tokarz on January 23rd 1965 in Decatur Illinois. He served with distinction in the Illinois Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971. Dave retired as a Factory Superintendent from Caterpillar Inc. after 37 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Decatur American Legion, Chestnut Mens Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He was also a former Warrensburg Village Board member. He was a life long patriot to his country and he enjoyed collecting Antique Tractors, reading history books and target shooting with his friends and family. His greatest love was for his grandchildren.Surviving are his beloved wife Patty of Warrensburg Illinois, daughters Tina of Springfield, Debbie of Oreana,: son Martin of Argenta.; Son in law Cary Mundwiler, Grandchildren: Erica Mooney and Hayden Mundwiler.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lawrence, Bill and baby son David.
