David Mcelwee

David L. McElwee, 80, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, in his home.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at First Baptist Church, Decatur, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.David was born April 16, 1938, in Cumberland County, IL, son of Clarence and Ethel (Geske) McElwee. He married Ruth Pfotenhauer.David was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a car and insurance salesman and enjoyed working on cars. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ruth of Decatur; children: Rock (Christie) McElwee of St. Louis, MO, Jennifer (Bill) Yattoni of Rochester, and Scott McElwee of Decatur; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Ann Penland of KY.David was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill McElwee.
