Visitation: 10:00 AM on July 09, 2011 Funeral: 11:00 AM on July 09, 2011 David H. "Mac" McCulley, 81, of Decatur, IL, died 3:08 P.M., Monday, July 4, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek, IL with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, DMH Hospice, or Cancer Care Specialists of Central IL. David was born June 21, 1930 in Gays, IL, the son of David Dale and Alma Juanita (Spaugh) McCulley. He married Barbara J. Campbell on December 23, 1951 in Decatur, IL. David was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked for the Wabash Norfolk & Southern Railroad as a car inspector, retiring after 43 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea and also served in the IL National Guard for 8 years. David was a member of the Brotherhood Railway Carmen of U.S. and Canada, Transportation Communications Int'l Union, lifetime member of Korean War Veterans Assoc. and the VFW, member of American Legion Post 105, and member of the YMCA since November of 1977. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara of Decatur, IL; granddaughter X I U Ying (Justin) Pratt, brother-in-law Carl Gene (Judy) Campbell of South Carolina, god daughter Carrie Jean (Phillip) Maggard and children Tessa & Zander, all of North Carolina; nieces Candy Ossowski, Tammy Lynch, Cindy Creason, Shelly Faught; extended family Mike McElroy, Pete & Sue Williams, Ed & Ilene McQuality, Kenny & Kay St. John, Judy & Cal Hensley. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister A. Geraldine Hammel and an infant brother. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Estrada, nurse Cindy, Cancer Care Specialists of Central IL, and DMH Hospice for the loving care given to David. "
