David Mccoy

David R. "Mac" McCoy, 60, of Argenta, IL, passed away 1:49 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015, with visitation one hour prior to the service time at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Decatur, IL. Dave was born in Racine, WI on August 21, 1954, the son of J. Arnold and June (Larson) McCoy. He was a graduate of MacArthur High School in Decatur and attended Richland Community College and Illinois State University. He married Carol Anne Wright on August 21,1975 in Decatur, IL. Dave retired in 2012 after a 35 year career with United Parcel Service, all spent in central Illinois. Dave was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and was a Deacon and a member of the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Illinois Valley Blacksmithing Association. He enjoyed photography, blacksmithing, and traveling with Carol. Dave was beloved by his family, friends and co-workers. He was always willing to serve others and never refused a call for help. He will be sorely missed by everyone with whom he came into contact during his life. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol of Argenta, IL; brother Gary McCoy of Niantic, IL, brother Thomas McCoy and Ella DeWeese of Kearney, NE; sister Kay Althoff of Lincoln, IL., two nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents. "
