David Gordon Maldaner, 80, of Decatur, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements. Memorial services will be held at 4 P.M., Monday, May 27, 2013, in the Dining Room at Lexington Apartments, 1221 N. Van Dyke, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (Officers Down Civil Police) or Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois Research. David was born October 26, 1932, in Springfield, the son of John Charles and Katherine Fae (Stout) Maldaner, Sr. He married Georgiann "Jo" Corey May 31, 1999, in Decatur. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2008. David worked as an auditor for Accore Entertainment Co. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Korean War. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Renee Holt and husband David of Minneola, KS; sister Lynne Truman of Springfield; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Richard and Jack, and grandson, Jefferson.
