David Hinton

David O’Neil Hinton, 72, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clinton YMCA or Clinton Youth Baseball or Clinton Youth Softball. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, will be handling the arrangements. David was born July 27, 1946 in Decatur, IL, the son of Dorlan O’Neil and Edith Berniece (Syfert) Hinton. He married Linda Jo Stahl on November 27, 1971 in Niantic, IL. David was the Executive Director for the Dewitt County Housing Authority for 31 years. He loved golfing, bowling, and watching his sons golf and play baseball. David coached St. Teresa’s golf team for ten years. He was the Clinton YMCA President from 1992-1993 and 2002-2003. He is survived by his sons Matthew O. (Bethany) Hinton and their children Evan and Autumn of Mahomet, IL, Jeremy H. (Tammy) Hinton and their children , Anna, Kayla, Samuel, Nathanael, Jeremiah, Rebekah of Clayton, IL, Bradley D. (Michelle) Hinton and their children Bryce and Reid of O’Fallon, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents.
