David L. "Goodie" Goodman

David L. “Goodie” Goodman, 72, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2026 at Macon County Memorial Park, 5700 W Main Street, Decatur, IL 62522.

Goodie was born August 31, 1953 in Decatur, the son of Roland Louis and Barbara (Garner) Goodman. He married Debra K. Bass on Friday, July 13, 1979 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on August 10, 2016. Goodie worked at ADM and later worked as a laborer for Local #159 for 15 years until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors – especially hunting and fishing. Goodie also enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved granddaughter.

Surviving are his sons: Anthony Goodman and Matthew Goodman, both of Decatur; granddaughter, Riley A. Goodman; sister, Linda (Jim) Bundy of Decatur; brother, Mark Goodman of Florida; Brother-in-law, Bernie Gillies, and Sister-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Emory and many nieces and nephews.

Goodie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Carolyn Goodman and Susan Gillies; and nephew, Robert.
