CUSTOM DEATH NOTICE David T. Fortner, 60, of Decatur, passed away at 11:04 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at St. Marys Hospital.Funeral Mass will be at Noon on Monday, May 18, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with visitation two hours prior to the Mass, at the church. And another service will be held Tuesday (05-19-2009) at 2:00 P.M. at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL., where friends may call one hour before the service. Burial will be on Tuesday, May 19, in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, St. Patrick Catholic Church, or Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses.David was born on February 11, 1949, in Decatur, the son of Ralph Leon and Mary Rita (OBrien) Fortner. He married Janice E. Chrisman on June 10, 1999 in Decatur.David worked for Expedite Solutions Trucking Company for three years. He enjoyed yard work, gardening, playing cards, and especially loved spending time with his family. David attended Kingdom Hall Of Jehovahs Witnesses and SS James and Patrick Parish.Surviving are his wife Janice of Decatur; stepson Charles Barger of Decatur; step-granddaughter Angelique Barger of Macon; brothers Sam Fortner and wife Carolyn of Stonington, Joe Fortner and wife Loretta of Mt. Zion, and Bill Fortner and wife JoAnn of Bowling Green, KY; sisters Mary Cummins and husband Lynn of Decatur, Barbara Moody and husband Don of Mt. Zion, Cathy Sanders and husband Roy of Yukon, OK, Margaret Summerfeldt of Traverse City, MI, Martha Smith and husband Tom of Decatur, Marelyn Odgen and husband Troy of Yukon, OK, and Madelyn Beck and husband Tom of Elwin; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.David was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patty DeRight and Mary Alice, niece Alice M.
