A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Johns Hospice.David was born on October 13, 1961, in Decatur, the son of Charles Ray and Marilyn Rose (Floyd) Burkhart.David was a crane operator for N&W Railroad in Decatur, and a truck driver for United Dairy, bulk hauling of acid, Coastal Gasoline, Pioneer Landscaping, all in Tucson, AZ. He enjoyed working on electronics.He leaves behind his daughter Arielle Shae Burkhart and granddaughter ShaeLyn Ray of Boise, ID; father and mother Charles and Marilyn Burkhart of Decatur, IL; sister Cheryl Gebhart of Arlington, VA; sister Mary Morrow and husband Keith of Decatur, IL; brother Chuck Burkhart and wife Pam of Harristown, IL; sister Tammy Smith and husband Curt of Argenta, IL; stepchildren Justin Hodson of Tucson, AZ, Jordan Hodson of SC, and Josie Sorenson of Boise, ID; and 9 step-grandchildren.David was preceded in death by his grandparents.
