David Brown

David Lynn Brown, formerly of Blue Mound, IL, passed away at his home in Smyrna, Tennessee, at the age of 69. David was born January 2, 1945 in Macon County, Decatur, Illinois, the son of the late Harold Marshall and Mildred June Brown. David was a graduate of Blue Mound High School and was active in FFA, 4-H and often leadership roles while in school. He and his siblings had many adventures while growing up which kept his parents busy. Summers were always filled with attending fairs with his Guernsey cows. David never lost the passion he had for his livestock and the excellence in breeding buffalo while he lived in Smyrna, Tennessee. He was well known across the United States for the purebred "Beefaloes" that he raised. David was married to Elaine May Oct 19, 1963. Three children were born to them. His second marriage was to Rose Tijan Aug. 27,1977. One daughter was born to them .. He later married Vickie Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Vickie; son, Duane Brown and wife Sheila of Woodbury, TN, daughters Deborah Underwood (Tyler) of Bloomington, IL, Diana King (Paul) of Heyworth, IL, Christina Brown of Nashville, TN, grandchildren David Brown (Brandi), Douglas Brown (Tabatha), Sydnee Underwood, Colin Underwood, Brian King, Logan King, Ethan Brewington, great grandchildren Brooklyn Brown and Trenton Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters Judy Galloway (Arvid), Kathy Robinson (Jene), Marsha Giles; brothers Gary Brown (Dixie), Dennis Brown (Linda), Phillip Brown (Karen), and Merle Brown (Joyce). He was proceeded in death by his parents and 1 brother-in-law: Gene Giles. Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN, was in charge of cremation.
