Darrell Smiley, 81, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, in his home. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to: American Heart Association. Darrell was born September 17, 1934, in Hardinsburg, KY, the son of Willis Franklin and Bessie (Robinson) Smiley. Darrell was not only a wonderful and strong man, he was a friend to everyone and a fighter. He was such a loving man who expressed his passion dearly; race cars and painting them. Darrell had his own shop, Imperial Kustoms Body Shop, in Mattoon, IL. Living all over the U.S. whether it was with his family or to receive car parts. He not only had a beautiful soul, but a beautiful heart as well and was close to all of his loved ones while treating them equally. Along with his passion of cars, he loved eating and trying new foods. His favorite restaurant was and forever will be Cracker Barrel where they and his auto body team were like family. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew this wonderful man. His family truly does miss and love this man with their whole hearts. Surviving are his children: Darrell Gregory Smiley and wife Carren of Mattoon, IL, Katherine Lynn Fidler and husband Dan of Decatur, IL, Debra Diane Davis and husband Ed of Mattoon, IL, and Timothy Stephen Smiley and wife Sandra of Flanders, NJ; grandchildren: Brandy, Nikki, Chris, Guy, Mike, and Shelby; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings: Lowell Smiley, Bob Smiley, Carolyn Hay, and Brenda Stiff. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. "
