Darla Earlene Wood

Darla Earlene Wood, 66, of Mexico, MO, formerly of Decatur, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026 at University Medical Center in Columbia, MO.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday, September 21, 2026 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral service will be 12:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Oreana, IL. Memorials in Darla’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Darla was born April 13, 1960 in Decatur, the daughter of Bernard and Sandra (Wombacher) Albert. She loved spending time in her garden, crafting, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children: Dustin (Janine) Wood of Mexico, MO, Christina Wood (Charles Roberson) of Macon, MO, Ashton Wood of Stamping Ground, KY and Dana Blake; grandchildren: Cheyanne, Karly, James, Ethan, Khloe, Gabriella, Mackenzie, Sydney; Leayla, Jeshua, and Vanessa and sister, Nancy Albert. Uncle Carrol Albert, aunts Betty Turner, Beverly Seitz, and Sandy Brandenburg, and numerous cousins.

Darla was preceded in death by her father, Bernard “Bud” Albert and brother, Bernard “Buddy” Albert, Jr.
