Dan was born August 25, 1962, in Decatur, the son of Marshall and Dolores (Damery) Stahl. His favorite thing to do was harvesting and planting crops with a Mountain Dew in one hand and a snack in the other. Dan enjoyed taking his grandkids for rides in the tractors and combine. He also loved raising his livestock. Taking his kids to show their pigs at the fairs and his grandkids to show the sheep at the fairs for 4H was another favorite. Besides farming there is nothing Dan loved more than watching his grandkids play sports and supporting their team. He rarely missed a game.
Dan enjoyed mud racing with his friends that he has had since high school. When they weren’t mud racing you could find Dan rooting for Jeff Gordon while they watched NASCAR races. He also was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys.
Dan is survived by his wife Anita (Barker) Stahl; son, Jeremy (Debra) Embrey; daughter, Jennifer (Justin) Ethington; grandchildren: Jalynn Ethington, Alissa Embrey, Jenna Ethington, Logan Embrey, and Jordan Ethington; brother, Greg (Deloris) Stahl; sisters: Diane Paoli (partner, Gregory), and Marsha (Jeffrey) Warmoth; step-children: Amber (Artie) Pospeshil, Adam (Leah) Oder, and Joshua (Kristi) Oder; and step-grandchildren: Artie Pospeshil, Andrew Pospeshil, Aubrey Oder, Alex Oder, Charlie Oder, and Paige Oder; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Haley Embrey; and his beloved Black Lab, Molly who crossed the rainbow bridge with Dan on Tuesday.
Dan will especially be remembered for his kind heart, and how much he loved his grandchildren. He was a great man, son, brother, husband, father, grandpa and friend.
