Daniel C. Floyd, 50, of Monticello, IL, died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. Visitation will be held to celebrate Dan's life from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, October 27, at DeLand Cemetery, DeLand, IL. The family requests casual attire. Memorials may be made to Donors Choice. Dan was born May 22, 1961 in Decatur, IL, the son of Winfred and Darlene (Mackey) Floyd. He married Karen Mruz on June 8, 1990 in Decatur, IL. Dan worked at ADM for 21 years and at the Truck Stop for 11 years. He was an active sports enthusiast, enjoyed baseball, basketball, and especially golfing and bowling (41 sanctioned 300 games and 26 sanctioned 800 series games). Dan loved woodworking, gardening and landscaping. He is survived by his wife Karen of Monticello, IL; son Adam Floyd of Decatur, IL; mother Darlene Floyd of Decatur, IL; brother Richard Floyd and wife Sue of Forsyth, IL; brother-in-law Gary Mruz and wife Kay of Forsyth, IL; sister-in-law Maryann Albers and husband Rob of Blue Mound, IL; many nieces and nephews; and two loving dogs Diesel & Cassie.
