Daniel Lee Cook, 27, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 10:02 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Daniel Lee Cook was born October 7, 1986 in Decatur, IL, son of Wendie M. Baker and William L. Cook. Daniel attended Eisenhower High School, Decatur, IL. He worked at Walmart and was an entrepreneur of all sorts from running a computer business called "P.C. Doctors" to developing web sites for many clients and repairing computers. He loved helping people understand things that did not make sense. Daniel enjoyed life and his friends, along with new ones he made along his journey in life. Daniel leaves behind his mother Wendie M. Baker of Decatur, IL and father William L. Cook of North Dakota; brothers Benjamin "Ben" J. Baker of Decatur, Corey W. Cook of Effingham, IL, William "Will" J. Cook and sister Kristen E. Cook, both of Decatur. He also leaves behind his grandparents Byron L. Baker of Decatur, Patricia A.Buchanan of Decatur and Donald & Shirley Cook of Nevada; cousins Amy & Sean Stone of Decatur, William K. & Jessica Atwood of Portsmouth, VA, Emily & Nathan Snoke, of Decatur, along with many aunts and uncles. Daniel leaves behind 2 nieces Brylee Baker and Taylor Cook, and 4 nephews Joshua & Isaiah, William & Jacob Cook, all of Decatur. Daniel was preceded in death by his great grandparents Charles & Mildred Long, Twila & William West of Clinton, IL, Lester & Cora Cook, Benjamin & Ida Baker and Raymond & Edna Carter, all of Decatur, 1 grandparent Verna M. Baker of Decatur, 1 great aunt Emily (West) Evans and 1 uncle Gale L. Baker. With many of heart filled thanks to the Nursing staff from floors 5100 and ICU South and all the servers and kitchen staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital. Also to his caregivers Julia Henery, Heather Puckett, Toni Gentry, Brittany Benson and a huge thank you to his aunt and uncle Jamie & Russell Snoke. You all were a special blessing to my sons life.
