Dan Dickerson

Dan R. Dickerson, 63, of Springfield, IL, died December 30, 2013, in Springfield, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Citizens with Disabilities or to the charity of donor's choice. Dan was born October 3, 1950, in Alton, IL, the son of James R. and Doris L. (Flenniken) Dickerson. Dan was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany. He worked for SAIL in Decatur, AW Cash and then worked several years for the Dept. of Human Services for the State of Illinois. He was a counselor and mentor for several organizations. Dan enjoyed listening to music and was an avid Cub and Illini fan. Surviving are his sister Donna L. Thompson of Indianapolis, IN; brother Timothy L. Dickerson of Oak Grove, KY; and special nephews Jeremy E. Thompson and Jeff (Amy) Dickerson, all of Indianapolis, IN. Dan was preceded in death by his parents. Dan was a very compassionate, caring person and will be dearly missed. "
