Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 19, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour before services. Abiding by Dales wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the service.Memorials may be made to the Karcher family.Dale was born November 14, 1931. He was the son of Victor C. and Florence E. Karcher. Dale went to school in Mt. Zion and later joined the Army. He was a cook and is a veteran of the Korean War. Dale loved to cook, and he had a few cooking jobs over the years. He was a custodian for Eisenhower High School for over 20 years. After retiring he had many jobs mowing and painting. He was a faithful member of Glad Tidings Church for several years and has many friends.Dale married Kathleen A. Colyer in 1957. They had two children, Deborah Ann and Robert Dale. They later divorced after 24 years and have remained very good friends.Surviving Dale are his daughter Deborah Musgrave and husband Robert of Decatur; son Robert Bob Karcher and wife Neka of Shelbyville; five grandchildren: John Musgrave and wife Mary, Jaime Musgrave, all of Decatur, Kris Karcher of Decatur, Brennon Atkinson-Karcher and Kyla Brown both of Shelbyville; two great grandchildren: Faith and Hope Musgrave of Decatur; one brother Bruce Karcher of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; close friends Kathy and Jim Smallwood, Paul and Cecilia Pilcher and good friend and neighbor Mrs. Ruth Laney.He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and two brothers, Victor and Willi Karcher.Dale was a wonderful and loving father and grandfather.
