Dale W. Hunt, 87, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 in St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Life Foursquare Church. Dale was born November 19, 1931, in Decatur, son of Heilman H. and Ruth Ann (Hollingsworth) Hunt. He married Nora Eileen Burnstein on May 21, 1961, in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2005. Dale was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Life Foursquare Church. Dale was a laborer for 42 years working out of Local #159. He worked in maintenance for St. Teresa High School and enjoyed repairing various items. Dale also enjoyed NASCAR, was involved in political conventions, and was very active in daily activities. Surviving are his children: Kevin Dale Hunt and wife Frances of Decatur, Denise Lynne Brown and husband Gregory of Oklahoma, OK, and Roger Del Hunt of Decatur; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister: Erma “Jackie” Yokley and husband Kelly of Decatur; and twin brother: Dell Edward Hunt of Decatur. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nora, sister Donna, and sister-in-law Janet. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital, Dave Eastep and Linda, friends at New Moon Cafe, and many more friends to numerous to name.
