D. Eileen Ernst, 84, of Decatur, IL, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 8, 2013, in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to the Edgewood Opry, Edgewood Christian Church, or Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. Eileen was born the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. Raimer Smith on April 20, 1929 in Decatur, IL. She married Adrian Ernst on November 23, 1950 in Decatur, IL, and he preceded her in death. Eileen was a graduate of Decatur H.S. and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University and her Master of Education degree from the University of Illinois. She taught primary grades for many years in Assumption, Camargo, and Decatur schools. She was a member of the Christian Church in Edgewood, Illinois, and associated with Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. She leaves three sons: Charles and wife Vicki of Mt. Zion, IL, Larry of Austin, TX, and Gary of Decatur; three grandchildren: Matt Current and Jeremy Current of Decatur, and Katie Ernst-Broadway of Austin, TX; four great grandchildren; sister Louise Wickline and husband Jack of Decatur, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother Rollin R. Smith. "
