Craig Anthony Garceau, 38, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, January 22, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.Craig was born June 8, 1978, in Decatur, IL, son of Dennis and Carla Sue (Kraft) Garceau.He dearly loved his daughter, Tennley, his family and friends and was generous in donating his time and resources to many in the community. He co-owned Sliderz, Woody’s and Pass The Buck. Craig attended Purdue University and Southern Illinois University. He was an avid fan of all sports, especially his favorite teams, the St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines. He attended many major sporting events including the U.S. Open, Wimbledon, NBA Championships, All Star games and several World Series. Craig loved pets, especially his long-time companion Dojea. Surviving are his daughter, Tennley Elizabeth Garceau of Huntersville, NC; parents Dennis and Carla of Concord, NC; sister: Stacey (Doug) Lake of Mt. Zion, IL; brother: Steve (Emily) Garceau of Decatur, IL; sister: Bridgette Garceau of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandmother: Charlotte (Dean) Kraft of Decatur, IL; aunts and uncles: Alan L. (Patti) Garceau, Scott (Georgeanna) Garceau, Jim Kraft, Penny Kraft, Richard Kraft, Pamela Kraft, Connie Kraft, and Kay Sexton; nieces and nephews: Hannah Lake, Scottie Lake, and Macie Fleming.He was preceded in death by his grandfather Dean Kraft, grandfather Charles Garceau, grandmother Cille Garceau, and uncle Raymond Kraft.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) or to Holy Family Catholic Church, Decatur, Illinois.His loving and gregarious spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
