Clifford Rigsby, 87, of Forsyth, IL passed away on Saturday, April 26 in his residence. Visitation will be on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5-7:00 pm. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00pm at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 3 at 9:00 am with military rites at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, IL. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church. Clifford was born on August 24, 1926 in Stonington, IL to Guy and Ella Rigsby. He had five brothers: Harold, Fred, Delmar, Guy, Chuck, and one sister Neta who have all preceded him in death. Clifford graduated from Stonington High School and went into the Army at 18 years of age. He began working at A.E. Staley at age 21 and remained there for 41 years. He married Helen Davey on Oct. 15, 1950 at Grace United Methodist Church in Decatur, IL. They were married for 64 years. Clifford liked playing his mandolin, square dancing, and bowling. He and Helen were ballroom dancers for over 30 years. Clifford will be remembered for his amazing love for family and friends and his appreciation for his salvation found in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Surviving is one daughter JoAnn (husband, Stephen R.) Farrell of Plattsburgh, NY; three grandchildren, Ashley (husband, Josh) Gryder of Lynchburg, VA, Ryan (wife, Susanne) Kirkpatrick of Lynchburg, VA, and Joseph Kirkpatrick of Plattsburgh, NY; and one great-grandson, Grayson Gryder.
