Clarence Helm, Sr., 85, of Decatur, IL. passed away on Saturday, October 28, in St. Mary’s Hospital Decatur, IL.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 3, at Camp Butler National Cemetery Riverton, IL.Clarence was born on September 17, 1932, the son of Albert Russell Helm and Katie Irene (Lyons) Daughtery. He married Judith Ellis on July 17, 1955 in Jeffersonville, IN.Clarence proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was a car salesman at Jim’s Auto Sales and at Gateway Motors. Clarence also enjoyed working on cars.He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith; children: Sherry Murgas and husband Miguel, Clarence Helm, Jr. Virgil Wayne Helm, Cindy Helm, all of Decatur, IL, Jacquelyn Karmatzis and husband Thomas of Danville, IL, Tanya Huffman of Warrensburg, IL, and Wendell Helm of Oreana, IL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth Helm and wife Joyce of FL; sisters: Lillian Paul of KY, and Nora Ann Helm of KY and several half brothers and sisters.He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Helm; grandchildren and brother T.C. Helm. "
