Christopher "Alex" McCoy, 21, of Decatur, IL passed away on October 9, 2012. Alex was born on January 3, 1991 to parents Christopher and Jill McCoy. Alex attended St. Patrick Grade School, St. Teresa High School and graduated from Argenta-Oreana. Alex was never at a loss for friends. His sense of humor and ability to entertain made people love to be around him. From a young age, Alex loved the outdoors and spent many hours in the woods near his home. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dog Walter. His smile, his laugh, and his beautiful spirit made the world a better place. Alex is survived by his father, Christopher McCoy, mother, Jill Crum and husband Thomas, brother, Paul Hassinger, sister, Lauren McCoy, grandparents Janice McCoy and Paul and Wanda Day, aunts and uncles, Jenifer Day, Lisa McCoy, Ron Day, Kevin and Teresa McCoy, Tom and Robyn McCoy, and Joey and Laurie McCoy, nephew and niece Corbin and Lyric Herold. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald McCoy. Services to celebrate Alex's life will be Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 10 am at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N Oakland Av., Decatur, IL. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 at the funeral home. The tragic loss of Alex will never be understood or overcome by those who loved him so. Remember the fun loving Alex, who made you laugh, protected you, was always forgiving, never judgmental, and allow those memories to comfort you.
