Cheryl Watson passed away on September 9, 2026, at 2:12am at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with her children at her side. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 26, 1968, to Richard E. Watson and Laura R. (Reefer) Watson. Cheryl worked many different jobs throughout her life, including various security positions, but her most recent positions were at Casey's and Four-Star Diner in Mt. Zion, IL.

Cheryl was a very kind-hearted person. She didn't know a stranger and made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Whether you were family, a friend, a customer coming through at work, or a stranger going through a hard time, she defined herself by helping others in any way she could. She loved and was loved by so many people throughout the country.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and her firstborn daughter Vanessa.

She is survived by her children Laura Hector and Kevin Taylor (Harper, Maya and Rhys) of Decatur, IL; Richard "Craig" Hector and Laura Herring (Sophie, Bella, Lilly and Julie) of Milledgeville, GA; and Jaqualyn Hector and Abbi Vickers (Paisley) of Champaign, IL. She is also survived by her sisters Cindy Blemings and Tammy Herman, her brother Bruce Watson, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Other important people in her life include Jean Hector, Richard Hector, and Jeff and Linda Stoner.

Cremation rites have been arranged. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home assisting the family.
