Cheryl D. Reed, 64, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025 surrounded by her family.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Cheryl’s life will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Friday, March 14, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Memorials in Cheryl’s honor may be made to the Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois Charitable Fund.
Cheryl was born July 21, 1960 in Decatur, the daughter of James Thomas Hamilton and Patricia Ann (German) McClanahan. She worked for 13 years at Sam’s Club. Cheryl enjoyed baking and crafting. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren telling stories (some of them true) and laughing.
Surviving are her daughter, Kendal Reed of Decatur; son, Zach Ekiss of Decatur; grandchildren: Lex Ekiss, Lexus Ekiss and Kya Ekiss; sisters: Lori Logan of Decatur and Penny Fitch of Decatur; step-mother Nancy Hamilton of Latham; and step-sisters: Cindy Trent and Shelly (Steve) Daily.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Darrell Hamilton.
