Charlotte Wood

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5-7 Thursday, March 31, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL.Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Come Together c/o DMH Foundation, 2300 N. Edward St., Decatur, IL 62526.Charlotte was born August 7, 1920, in Carmago, IL, the daughter of Raymond Leon and Tessa Mary (Berry) Moore. She married Robert Downing in 1947; he preceded her in death in 1963. She later married Ward W. Wood in 1972; he preceded her in death on March 8, 1998.Charlotte previously worked at Pfiles Camera Shop, Sears, and at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home as an attendant . She was of the Christian faith. Charlotte especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and looking at pictures of her great-granddaughter. She loved walking the sandy beaches in Florida and feeding the seagulls.Surviving are her daughter Jana (Michael) Tharp of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Tyler and Megan, and great-granddaughter Sevayah Rhayne; stepson Kevin Wood and his sister Marilyn.Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers Robert Moore and Loren Eugene Barnett, and stepmother Ida Moore.The family would like to thank the nurses, CNAs, and staff at Fair Havens Christian Home for the wonderful and loving care given to Charlotte.
