Charlotte Stroede

Charlotte Ann Stroede, 81, died March 1st in Decatur, IL, after battling health issues over the last few years. Her service will be held Saturday, March 9that Brintlinger& Earl Funeral Home, 2827 N Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL 62526. The service will be at 11am, with visitation from 10am to 11am. Mrs. Stroede (Lind) was born on October 26, 1937 in Ladysmith, WI to Earnest E. and Petronella Lind. She married Albert Stroede on September 8, 1956 in Rhinelander, WI. They later moved to the Chicago area briefly, before finding a long-time home in Decatur, IL. They raised 4 children. Charlotte was an avid reader of fiction novels, and enjoyed cooking, making sure nobody left the dinner table hungry. She also enjoyed family time, playing board games/card games as well as traveling with family. She is survived by her husband Albert, and 4 children: Cheryl Schultz, Norine Stroede, Jeffrey Stroede and Randall Stroede; by her sister Marilyn Peterson; 6 grandchildren: Lucas Schultz, Zachary Schultz, Kelly Stroede, Amy Pingitore, Kaitlyn Meck and Ryan Stroede, and great grandaughter Lily Schultz . Charlotte was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Lind and Johnny Lind, and her parents. Memorials may be made to the Decatur Public Library.
