Charlotte Ann Munie, 62 of Decatur, IL died Thursday, September 11th at her home in Oxford House in Decatur. Born December 27th, 1951 to Charles and Josephine Wagner Munie, Charlotte will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, godmother, friend and faithful member of Saint James and Patrick Parish. Charlotte overcame several hardships early in her life including a disorder which left a hole in her heart. Despite these challenges Charlotte had an immense capacity for love and her happiest moments were spent with family. She was a graduate of St. Teresa High School and Richland Community College, going on to work for and retire from the State of Illinois after 19 years of service. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Josephine. She is survived by her brother Gregory Munie and his wife Barbara McCartney of Naperville, IL and their two sons Michael Munie and wife Jean He of Paris, France and Jeffrey Munie and wife Louisa Shields-Munie of Chicago, IL. She was a devoted godmother to both Michael and Jeffrey. She is also survived by uncles Bob Munie, Rene Plourde and aunts Rita Ferre, Irene Plourde and Mary Cunningham, as well as many beloved cousins. Charlotte will be remembered for her faith and perseverance. Her faith gave her strength to deal with many struggles. She was a loyal member of the Saint James and Patrick Catholic Church and never missed a weekly mass. She will be remembered as a gentle soul, eager to give hugs and fond of cross stitch and puzzles. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan and attended a recent game in August with family and good friend Jan Edgar . Charlotte will be happy to be reunited with her loving parents Charles and Josephine. Visitation with an opening prayer service at 4:30 with the visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18th at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, 2827 North Oakland, Decatur, Il. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 19th at 1 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 742 East Clay Street, Decatur, IL. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Decatur, IL. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any donations be given to the Ss. James and Patrick Parish or to the Illinois State Military Museum in Springfield in honor of her father. Charles W.
