As the sun waned on August 20, 2016, on the second day beyond the 59th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Melvin (Jerry) Hoffman, Charlotte Marie Hoffman passed peacefully on to her next endeavor. She left behind her two remaining children, Tina Marie Elyea (Mark), and her son Kent Jeffrey Hoffman, to join her middle child Dawn Denise Hoffman in the afterlife. Charlotte (Chip) began her blessed eighty year journey on June 9, 1936 as the second daughter of Creed and Nina Euleta (Creek) Jackson in a loving family of 5 siblings. She was wed to Jerry on August 18, 1957 to become a beloved wife and together began creating her most cherished possession, her family (they beat her love of a new car and diamonds by a narrow margin). She found happiness in her friendships beyond her family, which she held so dearly, working at Thompson Lumber Company, working with her uncle Bob Creek at his State Farm Insurance agency in Decatur and helping her family with sales at American Traditions. She made many more as she attended church at Zion Chapel in Blue Mound. Her family invites you to celebrate her life. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to Zion Chapel United Methodist Church. "
