Charlotte Capps

Charlotte Ann Capps, 91, of Cerro Gordo, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 14, 2018.Charlotte was born on March 5, 1927 to Harry and Edith Larrick. She married Glenn Capps on May 6, 1951 and together they had three children, Martha, Melinda, and Mary. Charlotte loved to spend time with her family and was present at many of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s special events. She never forgot a birthday and would always be ready with treats to hand out to anyone who would come to visit. As a longtime member of the Cerro Gordo Church of the Brethren, she had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. She loved Christmas more than any other time of the year and always turned her home into a winter wonderland for the season. Charlotte was full of spunk and was ready to crack a joke to anyone who would listen. She will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and community.Charlotte is preceded in death by her Husband Glenn Capps, parents Harry & Edith Larrick, Brothers Lynn Larrick, Jack Larrick, and Dean Larrick, Jerry Larrick. She is survived by her three children, Martha Griswold (Tom) of Cerro Gordo, IL, Melinda Sawyer (Jeffrey) of Cerro Gordo, IL, and Mary Gilsrud (Joe) of Winona, MN; Sister-in-law Anna Rose Larrick of Cerro Gordo, IL, 5 Grandchildren: Molly Kim (Han) of St. Charles, MO, Adam Sawyer (Hannah) of Chicago, IL, Maggie Hecht (Jeremy Jones) of Lakeville, MN, Joe Sawyer (Brandy) of Decatur, IL, and Emily Miller (Sheldon) of Bloomington, IN; and 11 great grandchildren, Nyah, Lucy, Christian, Camryn, Taylor, Valerie, Aaiden, Liam, Montgomery, Blair, and Griffin.Private family services will be held. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Hope Welty Library, 100 South Madison St., Cerro Gordo, IL.Memorials in Charlotte’s honor may be made to DMH Hospice or Charity of your choice.
