Charles Ward

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 2, 2010, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek, IL. Memorials may be made to Hickory Point Fire Dept. or Heartland Health Care Center.Charles was born November 7, 1931, in Paragould, Arkansas, the son of Tom and Omah (McDaniel) Ward. He married Sue Starnes and she preceded him in death. He later married Kay Lourash in Decatur, IL. Charles worked for the Decatur Public Transit as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1998, and later worked at the Decatur Auto Auction. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving in Korea. He is survived by his wife Kay of Forsyth, IL; sons Tommy (Tammy) Ward of St. Louis, MO and Randy Ward of Manito, IL; one grandson Shea and one great grandchild; stepson Curt (Becky) Lourash of Decatur, IL; stepdaughter Pam Lourash of Oreana, IL; 5 stepgrandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren;sister Martha Bass of St. Louis, MO; many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John.
