Charles Summers

Charles "Stanley" Summers, 62, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Old Stonington Cemetery, Stonington, IL. Memorials may be made to the family or Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois. Stanley was born March 3, 1953, in Decatur, IL, the son of Arthur Van and Lucille E. (Brown) Summers. Stanley worked for GSI in Assumption and Taylorville, IL. Surviving are his mother: Lucille of Decatur, IL; siblings: Bonnie J. Ledbetter of Capac, MI, Arthur L. "Shorty" (Ruth) Summers of Cullman, AL, Louise (Earl) Sloan of Pana, IL, William "Bill" Summers of Olathe, KS, Russell (Pam) Summers of Decatur, IL, Loreane (Sam) Robinson of Decatur, IL, and Lois (Ed) Blondin of St. Paul, MN; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his father, sister Rose Mobley, nephews Mark and Brian Luncford, Johnnie and James Sloan. The family would like to thank Dr. Benjamin Esparaz and staff, St. John's Hospice especially nurse Bethany, and special friend Barb Scharmer for the loving care given to Stanley. Stanley was very loving and giving. He would gladly help anyone out. Stanley enjoyed spending time with all of his nephews and nieces and especially spending time with his great nephew Chase who always had a question for him and brightened his day. "
