Charles O'Dell

Charles Allen O’Dell, 87, of Decatur, IL, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his residence.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Decatur, IL, with visitation two hours prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or charity of your choice.Charles was born October 2, 1929, in Decatur, IL, the son of Thomas Aden and Winifred Leona (Wiley) O’Dell. He married Pauline Williams on July 12, 1948 in Decatur, IL.Charles was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. He graduated from Kirby Union H.S. in Kirby, OR. Charles worked at A.E. Staley Co., first as a pipefitter and then retiring in 1987 as Maintenance Superintendent, after 39 years of service. He enjoyed traveling all 50 states and camping. Charles was a member of A.E. Staley Retirees Club.He is survived by his wife Pauline, of 68 years; children Marian “Lyn” A. Stevens (husband James) of Decatur, Elizabeth F. Gephart (husband Joseph) of Harristown, Barbara S. O’Dell of Downers Grove; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; sister Shirley Adcock of Decatur.He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cheryl A. O’Dell, and brother Aden M. O’Dell. "
