Charles Long

Charles E. Long, 79, of Decatur died July 16, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital, Decatur, IL. Mr. Long will be cremated and there will be a private service for the family.Charles was born January 22, 1931 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, the son of Charlie and Pearlie (English) Long, Sr. On October 20, 2007, he married Marilyn Bobbett. Charles worked as a crane operator for Local 965 Christy Foltz retiring in 1991. He had a pilots license and loved flying in his own airplane. Charles was also a 33rd degree Mason.Charles leaves behind his wife Marilyn; daughter Debi Mason of Bloomington, IL; son Ron Long and wife, Lisa of Jonesboro , AR and their children, Jody and wife Misty, and Adam; son Bruce Crockett of Springfield, MO and his children Susan and husband Ernie, Bruce and wife Tonya, Scott and wife Sheila; 2 sisters Louise Bolton and husband Thurman of Jonesboro, AR and Elnora King of Harrisburg, AR; and 9 great grandchildren.Charles was preceded in death by both of his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
