Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.Charles was born on April 11, 1929, in Decatur, the son of Charles Edmund and Frances Elizabeth (McFadden) Lohrstorfer. He married Joyce M. Larry on July 29, 1950, at St. Patrick Parish in Decatur, Illinois.Charles graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Charles retired from Purity Bakery Company after 44 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #99. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and his dogs, but most of all his family.Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Joyce of Decatur; his sister, Patricia Bomball of Decatur, IL children, Linda F. McKown and husband Melton E. of Dallas, TX, Charles L. Lohrstorfer and wife Nancy of Decatur, IL, Fredrick B. Lohrstorfer and wife Beth of Decatur, IL, Timothy A. Lohrstorfer and wife Suzanne of Indianapolis, IN, and Theresa K. Bowser and husband Samuel of Decatur, IL; grandchildren Mark McKown, Erin (Evans) and Hilary Lohrstorfer, Kris, Kari (Brewer) and Kyle Lohrstorfer; Luke and Marianne Lohrstorfer; Amber Slifer and Ryan Cox; Jodi, and Ryan Bowser; and 12 great-grandchildren.Charles was preceded in death by his parents and special guardians Uncle Harry McFadden and Aunt Grace Logan.
