Charles "Chuck" Norman Larrance, 83, of Decatur, IL, died 10:25 p.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL. Visitation will be 9:30-till service time, Monday, September 30, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Decatur Funeral services will be 11:00 Monday, September 30, 2013 at First United Methodist Church of Decatur. Private burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Decatur or the Decatur YMCA. Chuck was born September 16, 1930, in Ridge Farm, IL, the son of Russell and Eunice (Norman) Larrance. He married Rita Brooks of Danville, on June 8, 1956 in Danville, IL. Chuck was a long term and faithful member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer. He was a 1952 graduate of The University of Illinois. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he earned his wings in 1953 and later flew F-86 jets during the Korean War. Intrigued by business, he began a career in insurance with Country Companies where he spent 25 years before running his own independent agency until retirement. Chuck loved all sports, especially golf, and was an active member of the Decatur YMCA for over 50 years. He also enjoyed his membership with Golden K, Illinois Independent Insurance Agents Association, Life Underwriters, and was an avid and loyal Illini sports fan. He is survived by his wife Rita, of 57 years, sons Neil (Melanie) Larrance of Cincinnati, OH and Blair (Ann) Larrance of Cleveland, OH ; grandchildren Tara (17) and Zach (15) Larrance of Cincinnati, OH, and Tate (13), Jack (11), Cal (10), and Dean (7) Larrance of Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. "
