Charles J. “Red” Harmon, 88, of Decatur, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, June 17, and from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church. Red was born December 23, 1927, in Warrensburg, the son of Charlie M. and Ella (Guffey) Harmon. He married Mary K. Baker February 26, 1966, and she preceded him in death January 14, 2003. He then married Donna Crook Jones October 1, 2005 in Shell Knob, MO. Red retired from operations and sales in the trucking industry. Family always came first for Red. In his leisure time, he enjoyed country music, bowling , and golf. He had served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 - 1948. Red was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife: Donna of Decatur; children Sharon Foran (Mike), Linda K. Harmon, both of Decatur, and Larry Harmon (Angie) of Warrensburg; step-daughters: Patti Alms (Terry) of Steeleville, IL, and Jani Hamilton of Monticello; grandchildren: Kim Williamson (Todd), Chris Keehner (Chris), Eric L. Hamilton (Natalie), Tara L. Eades, and Brittany Mueller (Cody); 9 great grandchildren; brothers: Orville E. Harmon (Alice) of Xenia, IL, Donald R. Harmon (Sondra) of Salem, IL, and Howard Harmon (Cathie) of Farina, IL, and sister: Martha Fenn, of Nevada.Red was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, five sisters, and one brother.Red’s family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the 4th floor DMH nursing and hospice staff for their devoted care of Red. "
