Charles Doyle

Charles E. Doyle, 78, of Decatur, IL passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown, IL, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois (210 W. McKinley Ave. Ste. 1, Decatur, IL 62526). Charles was born December 29, 1940, in Vera, IL, son of George A. and Dorothy (Gilmore) Doyle. He married Sharon K. Hollar September 5, 1959, in Harristown. She preceded him in death August 18, 2017. Charles was an engineer with N&W Railroad and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, deer hunting, camping, fishing and spending time at the 50. He is survived by his daughters: Susannah Len Cox of Decatur, Dorothy Ann (Jeff) Durflinger of Mt. Auburn, and Tracy Diane (Jeff) Hood of Decatur; grandchildren: Crista Jane (Stephen) Briggs of Decatur, Courtney Kay Cox of Stephensville, TX, Kyle Lee Durflinger of Niantic, and Sean Michael Allen (Hanna) Hood of Decatur; seven great-grandchildren; and brother: Maurice (Elaine) Doyle of Decatur, IL. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Beth Ann Hood, and one brother. "
