Charles Richard Doty, 72, of Decatur, died Monday, December 12, 2016, at Symphony of Decatur. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.Charles was born December 31, 1943, in Decatur, the son of William Richard and Dolly Marie (Carter) Doty. He married Connie L. Zimmerman in Decatur on July 7, 1973. Charles was a manager at Steak-N-Shake, and an owner/operator truck driver. He was an avid Nascar fan of Dale Sr. and Dale Jr, and he loved to race and show quarter horses.Charles is survived by his wife Connie of Decatur; children Richard Earl (Kathie) Doty of Decatur, Paula Sue (John) Thomson of Argenta, Charles Conrad Doty of Decatur, and Christina Doty-Askins of Decatur; sisters Barbara (Virgil) Hart and Patricia Mahon, all of Decatur; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William and Kenneth Doty.
