Charles Lawrence "Charlie" "Buster" Brown, 93, of Mt. Zion, died at 11:49 AM, Friday, April 6, 2012, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Funeral service will be 1 PM Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Star of Hope Mausoleum, 2091 N. Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Macon County Honor Guard. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral will be handling arrangements. Memorials: Golden K Kiwanis. Charles was born April 12, 1918 in Argenta, IL, the son of, Charles W. And Ethel (Clover) Brown. He married Evelyn Clifton on August 22, 1940 in St. Charles, MO. Mr. Brown was a graduate of Brown's Business College. Charles was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII. He was employed at Mueller Company for 39 years and served on the board of directors of Mueller Credit Union. He was a member of the Golden K. Kiwanis for 29 years, performing thousands of hours of volunteer work. Charles is survived by his two sons, David Brown and wife Cathy of Mt. Zion, Daniel Brown and wife Jane of Powhatan, VA; one sister, Lucille Summers of Decatur, IL; three grandchildren, Danielle Lynn Canaday and husband Jerry of Valley Park, MO, Ashley Lauren Brown of Powhatan, VA, William Charles Brown, of Powhatan, VA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; one brother, Lloyd; and one sister, Esther. "
