Mass of Resurrection will be 10 :00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Fr Rick Weltin presiding. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday October 7 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with a prayer service at 5:30 P.M. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery, near Atlanta, IL, with full military rites conducted by Macon County Honor Guard of Decatur.Memorials: Habitat for Humanity or Barclay Library of Warrensburg.Charles was born January 29, 1932 in Lincoln, IL, the son of Charles L. and Ellen (Welch) Bode. He married Abby Turner on December 26, 1955 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Atlanta, IL.Charles was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He worked for Borg Warner for 18 years, retiring in 1994. Charles was a craftsman, enjoyed woodworking, and had a special passion for Habitat for Humanity. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1952-1954.He is survived by his wife Abby of Warrensburg, IL; son C. Timothy (Sheryl) Bode of LaGrange Park, IL; daughters Jeanine (Barry) Rolett of Peoria Heights, IL, Suzanne (Gerald) Blohm of Fox River Grove, IL; grandchildren Burl and Ellynn Rolett, Ryan and Secilia Cox-Bode, Bode, Delaney and Lucca Blohm; brother James (Anna) Bode of Lincoln, IL; sisters Carolyn Gavras of S. Hebron, IN, Teresa (Alvin) Klockenga of Lincoln, IL, Elizabeth (Ronald) Patterson of Bloomington, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret Payne. "
