Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 6, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation two hours prior to service time. Burial will be at a later date in Hall Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL.Memorials may be made to the Breast Cancer Society.Mrs. Whitaker was born September 5, 1930, in Decatur, the daughter of Bert Oscar and Cora (Hill) Hall. She married William Whitaker April 22, 1954, in Decatur. Mrs. Whitaker worked as an inspector for Taylor Pharmaceuticals for 16 years, retiring in October of 1992. She was an avid Cubs fan, a reader of mystery and romance novels, she enjoyed knitting, and was an excellent cook. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband William of Decatur; duaghter Deborah K. Jerden of McHenry, IL; son Michael (Lisa) Whitaker of Jacksonville, FL; son Mark D. (Flo) Whitaker of Townsend DE; son Martin E. Whitaker of Smyrna, TN; sister Martha Rose of Sebring, FL; sister Nancy Finlay of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren Cindy Witt, Kari Aschinger, Rob Jerden, Jared, Max and Mason Whitaker, Ryan and Sara Whitaker, Alysia Vanderbilt and David Whitaker; great grandchildren Eric Magnus, Bobbie Lucille, and Elliot Michael.Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one sister. "
