Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the Niantic Christian Church, Niantic, IL. Visitation will be 5 to 8 P.M., Friday, February 6, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery, Niantic, IL. Memorials may be made to Niantic Christian Church.Carroll was born March 2, 1928, in Niantic, IL, the son of Clarence and Julia (Lockhart) Koonce. He married Mary E. Brame, on March 28, 1956. Carroll graduated from Niantic High School and became a farmer. He served in Korea in the U.S. Army. Carroll was a lifetime member of the Niantic Christian Church.Surviving are his wife Mary; son Rodney Koonce and his wife Judy of Illiopolis, IL; daughter Suzanne Lohrstorfer and husband Tim of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Angela Bartels and husband John of Riverton, IL, Amanda Manon and husband Eric of Macon, IL, Jared Koonce of Illiopolis, IL, Luke and Annie Lohrstorfer of Indianapolis, IN; 3 great grandchildren; brother James of Greenview.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
