Carrie Mildred (Byler) Harding, 97, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Imboden Creek Living Center, Decatur. A Memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at Central Christian Church, Decatur. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Mildred was born August 14, 1917, in Dallas City, IL, the only daughter of Earl Lozell and Lelia Ellen (Daily) Byler. She married Vilas Harding in 1945. He preceded her in death, as well as son Richard Byler Harding. Mildred was a member of Central Christian Church and Eastern Star. She attended college in Carthage, IL and majored in Home Economics. She went on to become National Youth Administration Advisor as well as become a Home Economics teacher. She managed her bicentennial farm in later years. Surviving is her only granddaughter Carrie Byler Harding. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son. Mildred was a devout Christian, soft-spoken, selfless, and compassionate.
